We are very pleased to announce our participation in the 135th annual Rose Parade, where CORE Kidney will have our inaugural Rose Parade float on January 1st, 2024, in Pasadena, California. We seek to bring together passionate advocates for KIDNEY HEALTH, and we would like to invite you to participate and be our major supporter! Our float is hosted by CORE Kidney Foundation and Circle of CORE – a non-profit patient support and advocacy group formed by kidney patients, their caregivers and living kidney donors. The mission of this float is to honor our living kidney donors by increasing KIDNEY HEALTH awareness – a huge unmet need.

Some Key US Kidney Facts:

  • One of the top 10 causes of death – SILENT killer as kidney disease tends to be asymptomatic.
  • 1 in 3 adults are at risk of kidney disease.
  • 1 in 7 adults suffer from kidney disease.
  • Only 1 in 10 know they have kidney disease as it is a SILENT killer.
  • 1 in 10 have an inherited genetic cause of kidney disease.
  • Delay in diagnosis and timely interventions.
  • Challenges in implementation of guideline directed therapies to slow or halt the progression of kidney disease.
  • Uptake of home dialysis stays dismally low.
  • Long wait for kidney transplant.
  • Kidney disease is associated with significant morbidity, mortality and financial cost.
  • Lack of public awareness
We need early diagnosis and interventions to stop this SILENT killer and make every effort to slow down the progression by applying guidelines directed therapies and increasing public awareness. We need to change the narrative here and move the needle on this and ask you to join us in this rose parade campaign to fight kidney disease by increasing public awareness on KIDNEY HEALTH. The world-famous Rose Parade has a large audience of 700,000 plus live spectators and 50 plus million online viewers from all over the world and will be having its 135th iteration in 2024. Our KIDNEY float will include living kidney donors, kidney recipients, kidney patients, caregivers, patient advocates and much more. There’s a lot of symbolism in the float itself which will be highlighted during the viewing. There is not a better platform to deliver a positive message then on January 1st when people make resolutions including ones related to health.
